Dave Burnette's Life Application

Learning From Our Ancestors

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1 Chronicles with Chapter 3. In our text today we see the descendants of David, a man after God's own heart. In looking back we see those who obeyed, disobeyed, loved, and sinned against God. In making application we see the history of a family tree. When we look at own ancestry we see those in own family who have followed the Lord and those who haven't and in the process we see how God blesses some and how others suffer the consequences of their actions. How about you? Do you see the history of those who have gone before us? Let us learn from our text today to see that we need to learn from the obedience or disobedience of our ancestors so we may learn from their history.
