Contribute to the WorshipEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter
making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we
continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 25. In our text today we the duties of the Musicians as instructed by David.
What catches my eye is how different people contributed different things to Worship. Some prophesied, some prayed, some played
instrument, while others sang. The common thread is that all contributed to worship which is simply to show God worth by lifting
him up. In making application we see the Lord wants you to worship. It may be simply greeting others but we all have something
to contribute. How about you? Are you contributing to the worship of our Lord? Let us learn from our text today and the life
of David and the Temple to be reminded that we all have something to Contribute to the worship of our Lord.

Prepare for WorshipEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter
making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we
continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 24. In our text today we see David dividing the priests into groups. What
catches my eye today is the structure of the Temple services. This did not hender the Spirit of God, rather it provided an
orderly context for worship. In making application we see the preperation for worship actually causes us to prepare our hearts
for worship. Once we focus on Him and put ourselves aside the Spirit of God has liberty to move in us and in the service.
We find the order brings the Glory to God as we experience the joy and freedom of liberty. This does not mean that we cannot
express our joy through praise in worship as long as our praise gives God Glory and not just attention to ourselves. How about
you? Do you prepare for worship? Let us learn from our text today and the life of David to reminded that we need to prepare
for worship to experience liberty in worship.

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord.
Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 23. In our text
today we see David assigns duties to the Levites. What catches my eye is how each person had a specific job in the
temple. Some made the sacrifices, some helped the Priests, some cleaned, repaired, while others gave money to help the body
work. In making applications we see the framework of the Church. We all have different roles but work together to form the
body of Christ. This is why it is so important to be apart of the local Church. Everyone is needed to do the work of the Lord.
If you don't go the body suffers. How about you? Are you saved? If so, are you an active memeber working in the Church to
complete the House of GOd? Let us learn from our text today and the live of David and the structure of the temple to remember
the Lord wants us to be a working member of the body.

A True Sacrifice Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 22. In our text today we see David making arrangements for the building of the temple by preparing the materials for
the construction. What catches my eye is when David wanted to buy the Land of Ornan to build and an altar, Ornan generously
offered it as a gift. But David refused saying, "I will not take that which is offered to the Lord without price."
In making application we see that we too cannot give a sacrifice to the Lord unless it costs us something. I not talking about
your tithe, for that belongs to the Lord, rather I am talking about a true gift that tells he Lord how much you Love Him.
It can be your time, talent, or finances but it is not a true sacrifice unless it costs you something. It reminds me of when
our family first started giving to missions. We were ignorant in our younger years of thinking that our tithe was a sacrifice
but our young family sacrificed a meal out each month to give to missionaries. This was a small sacrifice but the joy of giving
was introduced to us and we gave more and more through the years. What a blessing to be able to love and worship God in our
giving. Little did I know that we would become missionaries later in life living off the sacrifice of others. I am so glad
that the Lord let us experience the joy of giving and when we receive now we understand the sacrifice of others felling that
love of the giver for the Lord. How about you? Do you give a sacrifice to the Lord? Have
you experienced this joy? Let us learn from out text today and the life of David to remember that a true gift to the Lord
is the sacrifice that costs you something.

A Prideful HeartEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 21. In our text today we see David number the men of the military age. This census of David brought disaster because
it was not ordered of God but was ordered of David and his motivation was of pride not obedience. In making application we
see that there is a fine line between these 2 attitudes of Pride and a Godly Confidence. The key is to not forget where our
blessing come, If we acknowledge the Lord as one who has blessed us then we wont take credit for what He has done. David started
out in a position of humility but as he sinned he lost his perspective and humility. We should always have our eyes on the
Lord as it keeps us from sin and keeps us from a prideful heart. How about you? Do you have a prideful heart? Are your eyes
fixed upon the Lord? Let us learn from our text today and the life of David to be reminded that an obedient heart comes from
a humble heart who has a fixed focus on our Lord.

Keep Your Focus on the LordEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 20. In our text today we see David's Army concurring the Ammonites and take on the Philistines in battle. This Chronicle
covers the details of the battle but this is the period of time when David sinned with Bathsheba. It is mirrored in 2 Samuel
11-12. What catches my eye is how David fell in the midst of such great victories in his life. After the humility that launched
David into the graces of God we see how David took his eyes off the Lord and sinned. In making application we need to see
that the enemy tempts us when we have our largest victories of the Lord. We are vulnerable in these times because our flesh
has a tendency to take credit for the victories and this lack of focus on the Lord allows the enemy to tempt us. A mature
Christian will learn the tricks of the enemy and keep our focus on the Lord at all times. How about You? Do you recognize
how the enemy works in our lives? Let us learn from our text today and the life David to recognize when and how the enemy
attempts to tempt us and how to keep our focus on the Lord.

God Uses Imperfect People Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 19. In our text today we see David fighting the Ammonites. What catches my eye is how David continued to defeat the
enemies of Israel who gave them problems in the past. In making application we see how the Lord uses people who have a heart
for God to do the Will of God. Our obedience and humility to a Holy, All Powerful God will see God do might miraculous things
through our lives. Even though David committed many sins but he was a man after God's Own Heart and as a result God used him.
God uses imperfect people who repent and seek after God to do mighty things for Him. How about you? Do you see how God can
use you even though you are not perfect? Let us learn from our text today and the life of David to remember that God uses
imperfect people who have a repentant heart toward Him to do mighty things for the Lord.

God's Blessings Expose Our HeartEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 18. In our text today we see David's Military Exploits as he conquers many enemies. In his victories he did not forget
the Lord, rather he dedicated the gifts he received unto the Lord. In making application we see that when we are blessed of
the Lord we too need acknowledge who has provided our blessings. When we are blessed of the Lord it shows the condition of
our heart. Either have a prideful heart, a covetous heart, or a grateful heart. It reminds me of friends I have had who I
helped in the past to have them who have been blessed to see the change in their lives. Many have become selfish and covetous
to see the blessings of God expose who they really are. How about you? Do you remember the Lord when He blesses you? Let us
learn from our text today and the life of David to remember when we are blessed of the Lord it exposes our heart

A Practical Pattern of PrayerEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 17. In our text today we see how God promises blessings to David and David's prayer of acceptance. What catches my
eye is how David prayed in verses 16-27 as he 1) humbled himself 2) praised God 3) recognized God's blessings, and 4) accepted
God's decisions, promises, and commands. In making application we see a practical pattern of prayer. Some of us treat God
as a "drive thru" giving God our laundry list of how "He" can bless "us" while in reality it
is "us" who need to humble ourselves before the Lord and follow this pattern of Prayer. When we follow David's example
we see who we are in relation to who God is and our prayers become, "Lord, your will be done in my life - you are in
control - you are the potter and I am the clay - show me what to do and where you would have me to go" Once in this position
of humility we can be used of God in a mighty way to do His Will. How about you? Do you pray with humility to do the Lord's
Will in your life? Let us learn from our text today and the pattern of prayer that David exampled before us to humble ourselves
before the Lord.

The Power of Praise Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 16. In our text today we see David giving praise to Lord delivering a Psalm of
Thanksgiving. This song of praise had 4 elements of true thanksgiving 1) a remembering of what God had done 2) a telling to
others about it 3) a showing of God's glory to others, and 4) offering ones self, time, and resources to God. In making application
we see the importance of giving praise to the Lord. Praise exalts the Savior, shares His goodness with others, and places
us in a humble position of who God is in our lives. David realized the power of Praise and as he exalted the Savior and became
a man after Gods' own heart. How about you? Do you see that Praise knits our hearts together with the Lord? Let us learn from
our text today and the life of David to be reminded to Praise the Lord as it unleashes His Power in our lives.

Following the Lord's InstructionsEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 15. In our text today we see the Levites carry the Ark to Jerusalem. When David first attempted to move the Ark in
chapter 15 he learned an important lesson that when the Lord gives specific instructions it is wise to follow them precisely.
In making application, today we have the Word of God. It is filled with specific instructions and we are to follow them precisely.
Many pick and choose what they want to believe and excuse the rest as being outdated or not relevant to current times but
truth is that God gave us the Bible for instruction and it is relevant for life today. If we fail to follow the instructions
we will see the results like David experienced in chapter 13 of being blessed or being cursed. It reminds me of the homosexual
movement today that is sweeping our country and those who say that it is an alternative lifestyle but the Bibles calls sin.
When confronted with the Scriptures I have heard them try to excuse it away or call it outdated but the truth is that God
calls it sin and continuing in that lifestyle will result in judgement like that explained in Sodom and Gomorra. How about
you? Do you see the Bible as God's Word and if we obey we will be blessed and if we disobey we will see the consequences of
out actions? Let us learn from our text today and the life of David to see we cannot just pick and choose what we want to
obey from the Bible but we are to follow the Lord's instructions precisely.

The Lord Works in Many Ways Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 14. In our text today we see David's good fortune as he conquers the Philistines. David faced many situations that
required him to seek the Lord and in each one the Lord worked differently. David didn't get discouraged in the changes, but
rather, David saw every situation as a way God could work in a new and exciting way. In making application we see many changing
situations in our lives. God's ways are not always our ways but God is working in our lives. We must learn to not put God
in a box, trying to figure out how He will work, but rather trust Him to work with us being ready to respond when opportunities
come our way. It reminds me of how God has meet reoccurring needs in my life in many different ways. It showed me this principle
of how God works in many ways to accomplish His Will for my life. How about you? Do you have a problem with trusting God to
work and intervene in your life? Let us learn from our text today and life of David realizing that God works in our lives
in many different ways accomplishing His Will.

The Presence of the Lord in our Lives Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 13. In our text today we see the account of David and the ark and how the Lord smote Uzza when he touched the ark
and how he blessed the family of Obededom as the ark took residence in their home. In making application we see the ark represents
the power and presence of the Lord. When the presence of Lord was in the home the household prospered and when we disobey
the presence of the Lord we face the judgement of God just as Uzza found out. It reminds me of times in my life where I have
sought the Lord to be blessed and others where I disobeyed and had the Lord discipline me. Now not everything bad that happens
to us is result of our disobedience but the principle of the ark and obeying the Lord will result in a positive or negative
effect on our lives. How about you? Do you see the principle of the ark in your life? Let us learn from our text today and
this principle of the ark to remember that need the presence of the Lord in our lives.

Be a Warrior for the Lord Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 12. In our text today we see the warriors join David's army. What catches my eye are the qualities that made up these
mighty men of valor. These warriors practiced long and hard to perfect their skills, they were mentally tough, physically
in shape, and dedicated to servicing God. In making application for us to be might men of God we too need to posses these
qualities. We need to be skilled in our Bible knowledge, humble and prayerful before the Lord, having our bodies yielded and
under subjection to the Lord, while being dedicated to the Lord's will. If we follow these principles we ill be able to stand
and fight against the enemy. How about you? Do you fill these qualifications to be used of the Lord as a warrior for His Will?
Let us learn from our text today and be a warrior for the Lord by knowing God's Word, placing ourselves under His authority
with dedication to be used of the Lord to fight the enemy and be mighty men of valor..

Don't give up on the brink of a Miracle Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 11. In our text today we see David Conquers Jerusalem and David's Bravest warriors. What catches my eye is how Eleazar
actions changed the course of the battle in verses 12-14. When everyone around him ran, he held his ground and was saved by
the Lord. In making application we see how when we stand in the midst of life's battles the Lord can use us to bring about
His Will. It reminds me of those who faithfully pray and witness to others the world gives up on to see the Lord use us to
bring about salvation in their lives. The simple application is to not give up on the brink of a miracle. I am reminded of
how I received Christ. What if the one who witnessed to me gave up and quit witnessing to me thinking it was a hopeless cause.
I am glad that there was one who stood in the gap when others stopped trying, How about you? Do you stand and fight for God
even when others quit? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Eleazar to stand for the Lord even when others quit
so we too wont give up on the brink of a miracle.

First, Seek the Lord Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 10. In our text today we see the Reign of David as he becomes king of Israel. In chapters 1-9 of this book cover the
Israelite history from creation to the exile of Babylon. At this point the narrative goes back to the beginning of Israel's
kingdom period beginning with Saul's death. What catches my eye is how Saul ignored the Lord giving into his own jealousy
towards David that ended in his suicide. He simply ignored God and followed after his own way which ended in his destruction
and death. In making application we see so many following in the footsteps of Sault. They ignore God and do things their own
way which ends in the same destructive results. How about you? Do you try to do things your own way instead of seeking the
Lord? Let us learn from the life of Saul and our text today to seek the Lord 1st lest we follow the destructive path of those

How is Your Worship ? Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 9. In our text today we see the Returnees from exile in Babylon and the genealogy of Saul. What catches my eye is
the detail and time the priests and Levites took for worship. In todays busy world we pop in and out of a "Worship Service"
with no thought of who we are worshiping. We say a prayer, sing a song, and listen to a message without a true thought of
worship: which means to show-worth. In making application we see that our lack thought and detail we put in our worship to
our God shows the position we put God in our lives. If we don't put God first, then we are not worshiping our Lord. Our time,
our talents, our finances, should give God the position He deserves in our lives: 1st Place. How about you? Do you truly worship
the Lord? Do you put Him first? Let us learn from our text today and the example the Priests and Levites placed before us
to truly worship the Lord.

The Joy of Being in God's WillEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 8. In our text today we see descendants from Benjamin that are recorded here. What catches my eye today is the account
Saul and his son Jonathan who was inline for the throne but stepped aside for David who was God's choice to be the next king
of Israel. Jonathan then helped David, instead of being jealous, and fulfilled the Will of God for his life. In making application
we see how God's plan for our life may not be our plan or our ambition. Our happiness and joy come for being in the will of
God. It reminds me of a Pastor friend of mine who placed his ambition to leave a small country Church to Pastor a larger Church
in the city. Once realizing his mistake he went back to the small Church and found the joy he was missing from leaving the
will of God for his life. How about you? Are you experiencing the joy of the Lord in your life by following the Lord's calling
in your life? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Jonathan to learn that our joy comes from being in will of
God for our lives.

Believing Gods' WordEach day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help
us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 7. In our text today we see more of the genealogies of the nation of Israel as they are chronicled for us. Today we
see descendants of Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Asher. What catches my eye is mention of Joshua who
was man of great faith and believed God for his Word and that He would equip him for anything or any obstacle he would face.
He was rewarded in the end although he always seemed to face others of little faith and conviction. In making application
we see that we too can be Christians of great faith and do great things even though we live in a land where others have little
faith and conviction. How about you? Do you see yourself as a Joshua in a land that seems far from the Lord? Let us learn
from our text today remembering those who have been chronicled here, like Joshua, who did great things having faith in the
Lord by simply believing God at His Word.

Revival Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text
to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles
chapter 6. In our text today we see Levi's descendants. This tribe of Levi was was set apart to serve God in the Tabernacle
and played a major role in the building of a Godly nation but we see it decay with time. What catches my eye is the revival
that swept the land when Samuel obeyed God. In making application we see that one obedient soul can spark revival in the land.
In the history of revivals we see the welsh revival of the 1900's have 150,000 converts due to a single testimony. Today it
could be our testimony the Lord uses to spark revival in our nation. How about you? Do you see the power in being an obedient
soul before the Lord obeying Him in Worship? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Samuel to be reminded that revival

The Freedom of ObedienceEach day we walk
through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can
be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 5. In our text today we see Reuben's
descendants, Gad's descendants, and Manasseh's descendants. What catches my eye is the sin of Reuben as he lost his double portion of
his fathers estate due to him giving into temptation, making a decision to sin. I am sure if Reuben thought about the personal
consequences and the consequences to his family he would have never sinned. The truth is that the enemy would have you think
on the one thing you can't have verses the many things you can have in obedience to the Lord. In making application we see
that there is freedom in the Lord with His provisions verses the lies of the enemy with him attempting you to focus on the
one thing you cant have which is a sin. How about you? Do you see the freedom in the Lord that you have in obedience to Christ?
Let us learn from our text today and the life of Reuben to remember the Biblical Truth that sin has consequences but there
is freedom in obeying Jesus-Christ.

chapter 4. In our text today we see the descendants of Judah and Simeon as the tribes of Israel are expounded upon. What catches
my eye is the prayer of Jabez as he asks for the Lord to bless and protect him in and evil world. In making application we
see the need for prayer in our lives. Not to use God as a "Drive thru Window" to meet every fleshly desire we have,
but to call upon the Lord to do His Will in our lives as we walk through an worldly system that is ungodly and full of snares
and deception. How about you? Do you see the need to pray to the Lord to guide and protect you as you walk in this world?
Let us learn from our text today and the Prayer of Jabez to seek God in Prayer to guide us through a world that is far from
