Doing Our Part

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Nehemiah Chapter 3. In our text today we see the builders of the city walls. In this rebuilding we had those who received their responsibility and did their part to protect the city and those who did not that put the others in jeopardy. Since each had a responsibility of completing the walls nearest their house we see those who did their part were more secure. In making application we see a picture of the Church. Those of us who are saved are called to serve in the body. When we fail to do our part in the Ministry we place our selves and our families at risk for enemy attack. The failure of the redeemed to serve in the Church weakens the body as we are not as strong as the Lord would have us to be. How about you? Are you saved? If so, are you active in the ministry of the Church? Let us learn from our text today and the study of Nehemiah to make application of our lives to be an example of doing our part of service in the body of Christ-Jesus.

Have a Vision

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Nehemiah Chapter 2. In our text today we see Nehemiah has returned with the exiles and seeing the need begins to lead the nation of our Lord. He inspects the walls and calls the people to begin rebuilding. Nehemiah had a vision and without the vision the people would have perished. In making application we see the same call on our lives to have a vision, and to prepare the walls in our lives and the ones we love. Not seeing our weaknesses and preparing for the enemy can catch us off guard which could cause us fall in times of need and pressure. How about you? Do you see the need to build the walls to protect us from the enemy? Let us learn from our text today and life of Nehemiah to have a vision lest we perish.

Back to the Basics
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we start in the book of Nehemiah Chapter 1. In our text today we see Nehemiah returns to Jerusalem seven years after Ezra to see the Temple rebuilt but the people disorganized and defenceless as they lacked leadership. Nehemiah saw the need and took charge with a "back to the basics" program organizing the people. In making application we see the need to get "back to the basics" in our Christian life. As Christians we are the Temple and we need to organize our lives against the wiles of the enemy. Reading our Bibles, Praying, Worship, and Fellowship with the Holy Spirt will provide the foundation for a successful Christian life. This prepares us for the battle while focusing and depending on the Lord for His protection, direction, and guidance for a successful and fruitful life. How about you? Are you struggling in your Christian life? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Nehemiah to be reminded to get "back to the basics" for a successful Christian life.

Value the House of God

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 10. In our text today we see the people confess their sins as Ezra cast down himself in the Temple. The example as we come to a close of this book is to build the House of God, Gather at the House of God, Worship at the House of God, Then Repent at the House of God. In making application we see the need to follow the pattern Ezra gave. We too should, Gather, Worship, and Repent at the House of God, How about You? Do you value the House of God with Your Attendance? Let us learn from our text today and the example Ezra gave us in the Bible to remember to Value the House of God.

Unequally Yoked

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 9. In our text today we see Ezra praying before the people interceding for their sin as the people continued with marriages between believers and non-believers. In making application we see a principle that many struggle with today. Being unequally yoked in the area of marriage. The principle is clear for believers to marry believers. Some belive that they can change their spouses with there love and support to find themselves in a broken relationship that has no foundation for repair. How about you? Are you contemplating marriage or know someone who is? Let us learn from our text today and the disobedience and example that Israel set before us to remember to not be unequally yoked when it comes to marriage.

Vessels of Honor

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 8. In our text today we see the exiles who returned with Ezra o Jerusalem. What catches my eye is verses 28-29 where every object used in the Temple service was set apart for God. Each object was considered a holy treasure for the service to uplift a Holy God. In making application we see that we are objects used for worship. Some preach, some teach, some sing, some testify, some encourage, etc...Each member of the body is to serve in the House of God to uplift our Lord for the purpose of evangelism, edification, and discipleship. The Bible describes the saved person as vessel of Honor to be used for His Purpose under the direction of the Holy Spirit, How about you? Do you realize your importance as a vessel of honor to serve in the House of God? Let us learn from our text today and the example in our text today to realize that the Lord wants to use us as a vessel of Honor in His Body which is the Church.

His Way, His Word, His Will
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 7. In our text today we see Ezra making a way for the second group of God's people to come back to their land. They were without God and His Word and as a result their lives were in a mess. In making application we see a parallel in How God made a way for us in Christ-Jesus. We also see how a life without God or His Word will produce an unGodly, unfruitful life. How about you? Do you see the way that God has prepared for you? Do you also see the need for His Word to produce a fruitful life? Let us learn from our text today and the Life of Ezra who reminds us of the importance of the Lord's Way, the Lord's Will, and the Lord's Word.

Building His Church

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 6. In our text today we see King Darius approving the rebuilding the temple which is completed and dedicated and we see the Passover celebrated. What catches my eye is how the temple was decreed by God then completed by His people as an act of obedience. In making application I see the same action at work to us. God has instructed to to build His Church as we take the Gospel to every creature. Building the Church to all of those come to Christ. Just as in our text today we will all too, celebrate together, this time in the marriage supper of the Lamb. How about you? Are you part of the Church? Are you saved? Let us learn from our text today and the rebuilding of the temple to be reminded to share the Gospel to do our part in building His Church.

Making Application

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 5. In our text today we see the rebuilding continues with the Haggai and Zechariah proclaimed the Word of God and then worked to accomplish the task. In making application we see the need to make application of the Word of God. When the Lord instructs us to do something in His Word it is not enough to just proclaim its promises we must apply it to the actual actions of our life. How about you? Do you apply the Word of God to Your life? let us from our text today and example of Haggai and Zechariah to make application of the Word of God,

Don't Quit

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 4. In our text today we see the enemies oppose the rebuilding and King Artaxerxes stops the work. In making application we see how that the enemy will hinder out service toward the Lord. We face it every day as we attempt to connect people with Bibles. We learned as out text today to let the Lord fight out battles. The battle is the Lord's and we are to remain faithful. Although the delay was just a chapter in our text it was years in real life. The Lord works on His timetable and if we get discouraged we have a tendency to quit. We need to remember the Lord is in control and will defeat the enemy in His timing. Our job is to simply remain faithful. How about you? Are you facing a battle and get discouraged? Let us learn from our text today and nation of Israel who let the Lord fight their battles by remaining faithful to our Lord.

Rebuilding the Alter

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 3. In our text today we see the continuation of the building of the temple with the leaders rebuilding the alter. The alter is a symbol of the sacrifice of our Lord and a place where we "Meet God" Once built, the people they starting worshiping the Lord, singing and shouting praises. In making application we see that when we rebuild the alter in our life we will to come to meet God. When we meet with Him we see His Holiness and our need for a Him in our lives. In Worship we lift Him up and place Him in the proper position in our lives. Once we Exalt the Savior we experience the Joy of the Lord and others are drawn to Him. How about you? Have you rebuilt the Alter of the Lord in your life? Let us learn from our text today and the rebuilding of the Alters to meet with God and experience true Worship.

Working together in the House of God

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of Ezra Chapter 2. In our text today we see the exiles who returned in a detailed account. What catches my eye is verse 68-69 where everyone rebuilt the Temple giving of their funds, talents, and abilities. In making application we see this same effort is needed in building the House of God. It is said that 20% of the Church does 80% of the work but God's plan is for all the body to Minister through the House of God. If evryone gave of what the Lord has blessed us - then the body would function as the Lord has designed us. How about you? Do you give of your time, talents, and finances to the HOuse of God? Let us learn from our text today and the example of the jewish nation to remember that when we all work together in the House of the Lord then will the body be effecient.

Sin Brings Judgement

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we start the book of Ezra Chapter 1. In our text today we see the first group of exiles return to the land as King Cyrus releases the captive Jews after a 70 year exile led by the Babylonian Empire. What catches my eye is how judgement came upon God's people after their repeated disobedience. Just as the people of Moses in the wilderness it seems that the Lord allowed a generation to die off before delivering the Jewish nation. In making application we see the results of sin and judgment. Be not deceived, God is not mocked, and whatsoever a man soweth - that will he also reap. Today many mistake God's grace for apathy or weakness but the truth is that a Holy God will judge sin in His Timing. Judgement might come today, tomorrow, next week, next year, etc... but Judgement is coming so if you have been extended grace you must repent before it is everlasting too late. To some this might seem negative but only a loving God provides a way to be forgiven, a convicting Holy Spirt to warn, and a Bible full of examples of Judgement of a Holy God toward a sinful man. How about you? Do you see the results of sin ending in Judgement. Let us learn from the mistakes recorded of the Jewish nation in the Bible to remember that sin brings judgment.

Repetitive Sin Brings Destruction

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 36. In our text today we come to end of the Book of 2 Chronicles. Here Judah is exiled to Babylon, Jehoahaz rules Judah, followed by Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah. Our book ends with Babylonian army destroying the Temple. This book focuses on the rise and fall of the worship of God as symbolized by the Temple which was ultimately destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. In making application we see the principle of continued sin and disobedience eroding the Lord in our lives. Repetitive sin of the believer, will not remove our foundation, but will will remove the "temple" or evidence of the Lord in our lives including the fellowship and testimony of the Lord. Sin will rob us of everything good in our lives. How about you? Do you see the destructive power of sin in your lives? Let us learn from our text today and the example of the nation of Judah to be reminded of the destructive power of sin in our lives.

The Lord's Steps to Victory

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 35. In our text today we see Josiah keeping the Passover and later dies in battle. What catches my eye is how Josiah ignored the word of Necho because he was a ungodly King which cost him His own life. In making application we see how God uses the just and unjust to accomplish His Will. As Christians we need to not try to figure out the Lord's plan but rather simply be obedient to His Steps and His Works in our lives. Many times we will only be obedient if we know all the details but waiting to figure things out could cost us our steps to victory. How about you? Do you see how we are to be obedient even when we don't understand the completed plan of our Lord? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Josiah to remember to be obedient even when we don't understand the completed plan of our Lord.

The Lord Preserves His Word

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 34. In our text today we see Josiah rules Judah who did right in eyes of the Lord walking after Him. What catches my eye is how Hilkiah found the Word of God in the House of God. This book of the Law, probably Deuteronomy, was destroyed under the reign of of the evil Kings but was not lost. The Lord preserves His Word. Later in history more evil men have tried to destroy and remove God's Word but the Lord still preserves His Word. Today many try to change His Word making many versions that try to spin the truth but the Lord still preserves His Word. The original textus receptus translated Bible is still the #1 printed and distributed book in the World. God's truth is on display because He wants you to know how you can be Born Again. How about you? Do you read the Word of God? Let us learn from our text today and see how the Lord has preserved His Word for you so you can know how to be born again - to have your sins forgiven - spending Eternity with our Lord in Heaven.

God's grace is Greater than All my Sin

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 33. In our text today we see Manasseh rules Judah. Manasseh would rank at the top with evil rulers with his evil deeds, idol worship, sacrificing his own children, and temple desecration. Eventfully.ally Manasseh realized his sin, repented, and the Lord forgave this wicked man. In making application we see that the Lord will save anyone who repents of and ask Him for forgiveness. No sin is too great or too big. We are all sinners and there is room at the cross for all. How about you? Have you repented of your sins and received the free pardon of sin that comes through Jesus-Christ our Lord? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Manasseh to remember that God's Grace is Greater than my sin.

The Joy in Obedience

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 32. In our text today we see Assyria invading Judah and how Hezekiah handled the battle, his trials, his mistakes, and his death. Hezekiah was a great man of God but he made his mistakes. His faith is noted which provided great victories along with his pride that caused a distance in his relationship with God. In making application we see that after we are saved we make decisions that draw us close to God and if we sin we experience the distance that Hezekiah experienced. Obedience draws us close while sin distances us from the Holy Spirit even though He lives in our Heart. Many have shared with me how their sin has robbed them of their Joy but is restored with a repentant heart. Many things in this world are our of our control but we can control our decision to obey the Lord. How about you? Have you experienced the distance from God that Hezekiah did? Let us learn from our text today and the example Hezekiah left us to remember that our Joy comes from obedience to our Lord.

What if Everyone Tithed?

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 31. In our text today we see Hezekiah restores Worship. What catches my eye is verses 4-6 where Hezekiah reinstates the tithes of the people to finance the house of God. In making application we see that tithing is as much as Worship as anything we do at the House of God. The tithe gives the House of God to finances to Minister to everyone from sending the Gospel around the World, to feeding the poor, to paying the staff, to maintaining the place of Worship, etc. Still today it is estimated that only 2% of Christians actually tithe. It makes me think - what if everyone tithed? If we did then we would have the funds to complete the great commission and fulfill the work of the Ministry. I wonder how many souls will spend eternity in Hell from our disobedience? How about you? Do you tithe? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Hezekiah to remember that tithing is God's plan to finance the House of God.

Spread the Good News

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 30. In our text today we see Hezekiah

reinstates the Passover. What catches my eye is how Hezekiah reached out to the nation with letters pleading with the nation to repent and come to the Lord. In making application, we too should be as Hezekiah reaching out to our nation asking them to repent and come to the Lord. It reminds me of some of my friends that reach out to others giving them Gospel Tracts showing them the way to Jesus. In our lives we to should spread the Good News of Christ with any of the many ways we can communicate today. How about you? Do you communicate the Gospel with those in your world? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Hezekiah to remember to fulfill the Lord's calling to reach the world with the Gospel.

Removing the Obstacles

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 29. In our text today we see Hezekiah reopen the temple. What catches my eye how the Levites who were chosen by God to serve Him in the Temple were kept from their service from Ahaz. He was removed and Hezekiah reinstates them and God's Will conquered mans will. In making application we see that in the world today there are those who attempt to keep God's people from serving the Lord. History has a long list of those who have challenged God and His Will. Just as in our text today we see the Lord prevailing and His people do His Will. Today you might be hindered to do God's Will by others around you. Be patient while being encouraged as God will remove the obstacles that keep you from doing His Will. How about you? Do you have obstacle that keep you from doing His Will? Let us learn from our text today and the Levites who had the Lord remove the obstacles that kept them from serving the Lord.

Sacrificing the Children

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 28. In our text today we see Ahaz ruling Judah and does evil in the site of the Lord allowing worship of Idols to the point to sacrificing children to their false gods as sacrifices. This allowed the nation to be given over to its enemies due to its wickedness. In making application we see a parallel in our nation today. Abortion is allowed and embraced by a majority. History does repeat itself and we would be wise to repent before our land is given over to our enemies. How about you? Do you see our nation following the example of Judah? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Ahaz to remember that the worship of false gods and religions leads our nation to a path of destruction.

Stay Encouraged in a Discouraging World

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 27. In our text today we see Jotham rules Judah and does right in the sight of the Lord but the people did evil and they did not follow Godly leadership. Jotham did not get discouraged at their disobedience and quit and in the process even defeated the Ammonites. In making application we see that we are not to be discouraged when others around us are not following the Lord. The ungodly will act ungodly but, if we are not careful, we will get discouraged by their disobedience. We are to keep our eyes on the Lord and He will encourage us as we attempt to share Christ with them. It is exciting when they get saved but our job is to share Christ and He will convict them in His timing. How about you? Do the lost around you - discourage you? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Jotham to remember to not get discouraged when others around us don't follow the Lord. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus, sharing Him with others, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Above the Law

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 26. In our text today we see Uzziah rules Judah, his rule, and contracting lepresy to hi death. God gave Uzziah great wealt and power to have it go to his head and he became proud and corrupt. In making application we see the Biblical principal that Pride cometh before a fall. Some forget God when God blesses us giving us a false precept that we are above the law. I have seen this with so many as they go from salvation to maturity and blessing to see them commit the grosses of sins thinking they are above the law. How about you? Are you aware of this possible pitfal in your life? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Uzziah to remember that we are not above the law, we reap what we sow, and pride cometh before a fall.

God is Just

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 24. In our text today we see Josah repairs the temple and later goes on to disobey the Lord and see Judgement. What catches my is how a person can serve the Lord to have great victories but then decided to leave God's Path to face judgement. God is no respecter of persons and will judge fairly depending on our decisions. It reminds me of men of God that I have seen do great and mighty things of the Lord to see them stray and face the consequences of their actions. How about you? Do you see that our decisions will be judged by our actions? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Joash to be reminded that God is a just judge.

Our vision and mission is to distribute His Word in these last of the last days. Our Mission is to reach the 1/2 of the World who has never seen a Bible and the 75% of the World who does not own a Bible. Our Method is to simply depend on the Holy Spirit for direction and guidance as we inform the Body of Christ of the World Wide Bible Shortage. As the Holy Spirit burdens believers we will print, purchase, and recycle older Bibles, then network with Ministries and Missionaries to place Bibles in the hands of needy souls.  A special thanks to our Friends at the Spread the Word Bible College & Seminary for the Honorary Doctors of Divinity Degree. It a great honor to be associated with your University. Please contact me with any need, question, or concerns. My Personal email is info@bibles4free.com
